The Subject Centre for PRS has worked closely with a variety of students, academics, consultants and employers on work around the theme of employability.
Employability guides
These subject specific guides have been designed for students to help them identify and articulate how the skills that their degree is developing in them prepare them for the world of work.
Reflective Questions
These questions can be used in conjunction with the employability guides in order to help students think further about how to demonstrate the skills they have developed in the course of their studies.
Employability Profiles
The employability profiles have been developed by ESECT, the CIHE, and a number of Subject Centres to indicate the skills that typically can be developed through the study of particular subjects. Key information from the profiles has been incorporated into our employability guides.
Alumni
Data on high-achieving or notable alumni of philosophy, theology, religious studies and history and philosophy of science degree courses.
Self-employability project
This project looked at existing self-employability elements within the curricula of core TRS schools and departments nationwide, and contacted national funding bodies to ascertain what business start-up funding is available for students who wish to become self-employed.
Employability Interview for the Open Unviersity
Our very own Dr Clare Saunders was interviewed by the Open University about employability and philosophy. You can hear the interview by visiting the Open University website.
